Gem Strike is a great new game that reminds me of a combination of Gemtopia and the bonus round feature in Lil Red (exploding symbols and multipliers increasing with each hit). Bonus round is not too hard to achieve and actually gives you more free games for hitting more than 3 lightning bolts. Gem Strike seems to be a decent game overall but just like every game it comes with it’s up’s and downs. The up’s: within the first 40 spins at $2.50 a spin I got the bonus round which was 15 free spins and ended up with almost $40. Not too bad for a first bonus. Seems to pay ok considering that the multiplier increases with every consecutive win. I can see making money on this game from time to time. The down’s: just like every other game that I know of the more you bet the less bonus symbols you see. I bet from the minimum of $.25 to the maximum of $125. Every bet over $2.50 I didn’t see anything close to getting the bonus. At most I seen 1 symbol maybe 2 separate times when you need 3 for the bonus. It might just be me but a five of a kind should atleast pay 2× your bet no matter what symbol it is. I could’ve swore that a five of a kind is the best outcome you could have? Unless of course the game has full screens of the same symbol frequently that would make sense why just a single five of a kind doesn’t pay well. I keep hearing from the casino’s side that the bigger denomination the better the odds of winning?
