The best year of your life

Have You Already Lived the Best Year of Your Life?

By Lifestyle No Comments

You may have already lived the time of your life. Maybe that was the time you spent at college or the moment you realized how grown up you have become and what plenitude of new experiences awaits you. You may have even decided to live each day to the fullest. If so, you can consider yourself lucky! Have you already lived the best year of your life is the question scientists explored.

The Survey

Centre of Economic Performance of the London School of Economics has conducted a research in Germany exploring the gap between our expectations and real life. There were 23,000 participants in this survey, age 17 – 85. They gave answers regarding their life expectations in the following 5 years. However, the main question was focused on their current satisfaction with their lives.

Fast forward 5 years, the researchers revisited the participants to compare their previous answers with their current satisfaction. The interesting thing happened. Namely, senior citizens appeared to be more satisfied in life and ready to embrace life fully. The best year of your life should be 69 if you are senior and 23 if you still consider yourself young.

Apparently, as people approach 70, they become more fearless. There are no hold backs or remorse. Whatever happened in the past, should stay in the past. In their 60ies and early 70ies people are in a stage when they have nothing else to do than to enjoy the fruits of their work.

The Young Ones

Interestingly, we usually perceive young people as happy and full of enthusiasm. However, the survey has showed people in their 20ies have a lot of hesitations and doubts in spite of their readiness to take over the world. The best year of your life in youth should be when you reach 23.  It seems that after the age of 23 the careless life as we know it, vanishes.

Most importantly, this survey has brought an important fact to the spotlight. Young people usually have high expectations in life. They tend to overestimate happiness. Comparing to older people who have experienced life in all of its forms, overestimating happiness comes as a shortcoming.

If overestimating happiness is actually letting happiness slip through your fingers, does it mean that we should not have any expectations at all? Well, no. The researchers say that balancing expectations and reality is the key. This is, of course, difficult to achieve. Maybe the solution would be setting achievable goals. If it happens that one achieves more than he or she hoped for, great!

In the meantime, we should all try enjoying simple things in life. Have you called your family recently, to have a chat or a meal together? How about a friend with whom you haven’t sat for a coffee for a long time? Did you take a stroll or read a book, or went to the movies?

The classiest and the most expensive among cars

The Classiest and the Most Expensive Among Cars

By Lifestyle No Comments

Bugatti  vehicles are synonym for luxury and speed. Most importantly, these cars are an excellent investment for those with enough resources, as the Bugatti value increases in time. Collectors are highly interested especially in the EB110 and Veyron models. They are the classiest and the most expensive among cars. Not counting the old-timers, that is. So, here they are: the best of the Bugatti world.

The Most Expensive, Rare Model

As previously mentioned, the price of a Bugatti increases in time. Therefore, it is logical to assume that the oldest models would be the most expensive ones. This is not far from the truth.

Actually, the most expensive model is the 57 SC Atlantic. Only four pieces were manufactured between 1936 and 1928. Three of these have reached the price of app. 100 million. It has been speculated that the fourth one, if ever found, would reach significantly higher price. Not bad for the 80-year-old car.

Veyron 16.4 Model Overview

The ultimate sports car, Veyron 16.4 (produced in 2005) features a carbon monocoque, four-wheel drive and four turbochargers. It has 16 cylinders that generate more than 1,000 hp. The maximum speed is set at 400km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100km/h happens in 2.5 seconds. Veyron achieves the speed of 200km/h in 7.3 seconds. Bugatti manufactured 450 of these jewels among cars by 2015.

The Price

The price is a trifle. It was originally set at EUR 1.6 million. Nowadays, the least expensive model is available for EUR 1.3 million. Remember that this is the minimum price that clients should pay to get the unique feeling of driving a Bugatti. Many models sell for significantly higher prices.

EB110 Model Overview

The EB110 is a Bugatti sports model which was developed in the 1990ies. In short, it prides itself with  V12 engine, four turbochargers and maximum speed of 351 km/h. Its main feature that caught everyone’s eye is the fact that it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in up to 3.3 seconds, reaching the maximum speed of 351 km/h. Let us remind you that this is a sports car that went to series production. Namely, there are only 128 pieces out there.

The Price

The Price of Bugatti is constantly on the rise. If we take a look at Bugatti EB110 GT and its original price of EUR 280,000 from 2011, we will see that it increased more than 8 times. Reportedly, there was an auction at the Sotheby’s in February this year. The highest bidder paid approximately EUR 2.03 million for a 1994 EB110 Super Sport model. Sounds a lot, doesn’t it? The chances of a regular person earning that much are close to none. Nevertheless, there are always alternative ways. And playing progressive slots at our bet safe casino could be the choice.

Do you think these cars are for driving or collector’s investment only?

Everyday wisdom on gambling

Everyday Wisdom on Gambling

By Lifestyle No Comments

Gambling has always been provoking human minds. No one is immune to the mention of gambling. People either love it or hate it. However, the fact is that some of the cleverest minds in history of mankind have pondered on the subject. Furthermore, the entire nations have sayings dedicated to gambling. These everyday wisdom on gambling serve to remind us all about the advantages and downsides of gambling. Above all, the sayings refer to the widely spread notion of life itself being a gamble.

“Go and wake up your luck” – Persian proverb

It is no news that gambling depends on luck a great deal. Significant part of a player’s success is in his skill. There is no skill without practice. Nevertheless, there is rarely winning without luck.

When we are at the subject of luck, we should remind you that there are people who consider luck to be God-given aspect. Others believe that we create the lucky circumstances and control the force that rules the game, be it our knowledge, skill, circumstances manipulation, etc. Either way, everyone agrees that having luck on your side is truly beneficial.

“When we play, we must realize, before anything else, that we are out to make money.” D. Sklansky

Gambling is fun. Gamblers participate for entertainment. However, gambling is one of the rare entertainment forms that enables players to actually win money. That is why gambling has double benefits and can make a player twice as happy.

“Better an ounce of luck than a pound of gold” – Polish proverb

No matter whether this proverb reflects gambling or not, it is extremely interesting. It shows the full potential of luck. With just a little bit of luck, the players can change the odds to their favor. And what is the best way to activate your luck? Practicing and becoming skilled, of course. Therefore, it is a never-ending cycle. The thing is to find a proper measure that fits your personality and go with the flow.

“Poker reveals to the frank observer something else of import—it will teach him about his own nature. Many bad players do not improve because they cannot bear self-knowledge.“ David Mamet

Hm.. It is true, isn’t it? I bet many players do not think about poker in this way. Nevertheless, as each experience teaches us something, so does playing poker. Having in mind the fact that it is a game of estimates, reading people, and calculating your own every move, poker tells a lot about each player.

If you observe carefully, a person’s style of playing can tell you whether he or she is a cautious or audacious individual. Furthermore, it can also tell you how active or passive a player is, or how tight or loose he or she is. Predictive nature is also one of the key features. Once a player takes an introspective look and manages to control the impulses, reading the opponent would not be so much of a challenge. Once again, gambling resembles life in its complexity and controlling a person’s own ego as the starting point in winning.

Lastly, allow us to remind you about the very essence of poker, although this everyday wisdom on gambling may be applied to games in general:

“Poker is good for you. It enriches the soul, sharpens the intellect, heals the spirit, and – when played well, nourishes the wallet.”  Lou Krieger

We are looking forward to hearing your favorite saying about gambling.

Becoming rich

Becoming Rich and Its Drawbacks

By Lifestyle No Comments

Everyone wants to be successful and wealthy. The rare people who actually manage to achieve such a status are in danger of losing their own personality features. Hats down to well-off men and women who managed to keep their feet on the ground and their true friends close by.  Becoming rich has its own drawbacks. Today, we are exploring some of the most frequently spotted changes in the behavior of successful people.

The Need to Keep the Wealth Growing

Although the need to grow, upgrade and expand is positive in its essence, it has its downside as well. Namely, knowing your limits is very important. Money has become the thing that we can never be tired of. Above all, we always need more. Enough is never enough.

The interesting thing is that when successful people reach a certain level of wealth, they begin to forget how living is possible on less funds. We value money in comparison to what we can afford with it. We rarely see labor as money.

The important thing to remember when analyzing the growth of wealth is that being rich and being wealthy are perceived as synonyms. However, they are not. A person can be wealthy and not be rich. Remember the satisfaction of being healthy? Or having healthy, stable relationships with people close to you? Also, has the idea of being free to make choices slipped your mind? Sometimes, wealth is measured by the intangible.

Taking on Too Many Challenges

Taking on too many challenges in a direct connection to the previous threat. Once the money comes flooding in, it would be natural to assume that it should be invested further in order to grow. However, many people lose focus and disperse the attention to way too many directions and planned projects. Keeping the most sustainable project in focus is the most important prerequisite for development. It also takes away many of the risks.

The reason behind this type of behavior is usually in a desire to make even more money as soon as possible. And what better way to do it than to invest in several different fields, for example.

Should a person get caught in this ever-exhausting, but tempting, desire, it is very important to have associates who can carry out the ideas into practice. This is usually the point when another threat shows its ugly head – distrust.

Distrust

The trust is earned and gained back. No matter how far the technology has evolved, people are still the backbone of every business process. We cannot accentuate enough the importance of honest and constructive communication between people working together.

Becoming successful puts a person in a position to be a leader. This position comes with loads of responsibilities. Leaders not only make the businesses run. They also lead by example and empower their colleagues. If they fail to do it, the hierarchy below them can crumble in a moment.

It is in a human nature to respect the strong ones. The one who is capable and willing. The person who is demanding, but able to teach as well. Or, the one who is also willing to listen and understand while pushing others to strive for excellence. This is all a skill that a person can learn.

While doing so, the successful individual should never lose the following fact out of focus: if you have given your best to be a true leader, trust your colleagues and people below you. After all, you have chosen them as co-workers. They learned from the best and should be given a chance. Distrust should be the path to the last resort.

Do you think you would let wealth change you, as a person?

Porsche Taycan

Porsche Taycan Is Ready to Take the Market by Storm

By Lifestyle No Comments

Porsche has always been about high performance. Therefore, it is no wonder that their announced EV Porsche Taycan has stirred so much interest.  The first one in the electronic vehicle line up coming from Porsche, is, as many believe, the main rival to Tesla’s vehicle. Unusual Consistent Acceleration

Porsche Taycan prides itself with consistent acceleration. Reportedly, Porsche recently upgraded its ability to accelerate. Originally, zero to 60 mph acceleration was done in 3.5 seconds. Now, this acceleration is possible under 3.0 seconds.

What is interesting is that consistency of the performance is enhanced by the fact Porsche Taycan can do 10 launch-control starts in a row without degradation in performance. Furthermore, the performance shows no lacks even when the battery is more than 50% discharged. Actually, the driver can measure the slow down in this case, but he or she would not be able to feel it.

Charging the Battery

Porsche Taycan runs on 800-volt, so designing the charging process was a challenge.

It features two charge ports. As models like this one strive for not only high performance, but comfortability, the designers decided to include two ports for easier access. There is an AC port on the driver’s side, as well as a SAE-standard CCS plug configuration behind the passenger-side flap. It should accommodate AC and high-voltage DC charging.  The charging ports are programmed to lock one automatically while the other is being used for charging.

According to the official statements form Porsche’s Product Line Director for EVs, Mr. Robert Meier, the Taycan will have the ability to add 62 miles of range in just four minutes when using a 350-kW fast charger. Porsche has also committed to installing 500 of them in the U.S. through Electrify America.

We give this car thumbs up, especially because of the efforts to minimize gas emissions and saving the environment.
