NBA team “Dallas Mavericks” announced to accept Bitcoin as a new method of payment on the official site. Now, their fans can use this cryptocurrency for purchasing tickets and merchandise online.
Popular Mavs will utilize BitPay, the largest Bitcoin payment processor in the world, to process all purchases. This move will make tickets and merchandise more accessible to supporters of this team everywhere.
“We want our fans who would like to pay with Bitcoin the opportunity to do so. BitPay allows our global fans to seamlessly make purchases with the Mavs,” said Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban. He announced the cryptocurrency adoption a year and a half earlier. He hinted that fans would soon be able to use Bitcoin to buy tickets to the team’s games.
With this move “Dallas Mavericks” become the second NBA team that accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Before them, “Sacramento Kings” has done that as early as 2014.
